A Poem for Pondering Christians

Here is another poem that the Lord gave to me... I pray that it may be an encouragement to those who read it!  Blessings.
Phil

Might I say that all my life I freely gave
To Him who came up from the grave?

But up from the grave not alone;
No, He ascended to Heaven’s throne!

That King of kings, of matchless worth
Bled and died upon the earth.

Wicked souls from their sin, set free
That they too may heavenly be.

For He came, not mere doctrine to impart,
But to redeem a people that are set apart.

His Spirit, He gave them, their lives to fill
To empower them, that they may accomplish His will.

Though their days may be compared to a spring flower
When totally surrendered to Jesus, they are filled with power.

And as the curtain of their life begins to close
They declare passionately to all their foes

That though on earth they may shut their eyes,
The Author of life has given them the life that never dies.

Their enemies bring trouble, sorrows, and tribulation
Yet Christ will never cease to be their declaration.

“In rejecting Christ, your pain will be relieved.”
They respond, “I will not be ashamed of the One I have believed.”

And though their blood spills on the ground
To suffer with Jesus, no greater joy could they have ever found.

To stand with Christ in glory, that is their one desire,
Though it often means going through the fire.

Oh Lord Jesus, grant that it may be
That I lived, died, and bled only for Thee!

That when You take my last breath
I would praise You, and You would be glorified in my death.
